SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Empire's Taraji P. Henson took some heat during Sunday's Super Bowl for mistaking the game's halftime headliner Coldplay for Maroon 5.

During the show Henson sent out a tweet and an Instagram video cheering on the performer but little did she know a major flub was about to take place.

"YAAAAAAASSSSSS!!!! #maroon5 is life to me!!! #superbowl50 #HappyCamper," the actress accidentally tweeted.

Henson's fans and friends came to the rescue and informed the actress of her error. The post was taken down in less than 20 minutes.

But that wasn't before Maroon 5 lead singer, Adam Levine, screenshot the post and uploaded it to his own account.

"THIS," he captioned the photo.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Henson, and though embarrassed, says she had a good explanation for the slip up.

She blamed it on the "Kool-Aid."

"I don't know if you know how it goes down in the suites," Henson explained. "They put a lot of drinks in there - Kool-Aid, lemonade, iced tea. I mixed it all and I sat there and I'm sitting with people who drank the Kool-Aid as well."

Henson says that she wasn't sure if Maroon 5 was the headliner at first, but friends who also indulged in some "Kool-Aid" confirmed her thoughts. With reassurance the Emmy-winner posted with confidence.

"Angie Martinez, Mary J. Blige, my cousins, my mother, my grandmother -- everybody's texting me, 'change your post!'" Henson said, laughing. "I [thought] they're mad because I didn't give homage to Beyoncé! I'm like, 'The Beyoncé post is coming!' Then I realized it was Coldplay."

"Oooooooopppps. Lmao! #Superbowl50," she later tweeted, garnering a reply from T-Mobile. A meme from their ad featuring Harvey read, "Don't worry, no one noticed."
