"We've been talking about having kids for a long time," Hamilton said. "We both come from big families. Family is very important to us. Raising a family of our own is very important to us. So it was just a matter of when, timing-wise, and how."

"There was supposed to be about a six-month trial period," Dallas added of the adoption process. "There was about a six-minute trial period before we knew that he was going to be ours. For this Christmas holiday, we got the best Christmas present ever."

Dallas and Hamilton got engaged in 2013, and married in July. The actor came out as gay by announcing his engagement on social media, writing, "Starting off the year with a new fiance. A great way to kick off 2013!"

Dallas is best known for playing Kyle Trager on ABC Family series Kyle XY, and has since appeared on Eastwick and Baby Daddy. Hamilton worked as a Warner Music Group executive for several years before releasing his debut EP, Radio Flyer, in 2012.
