Carrie Fisher opens exclusive Instagram profile for dog, Gary Fisher

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Carrie Fisher has heeded the call to start an Instagram profile for her faithful dog, Gary.

Gary Fisher is a dark-colored French Bulldog who constantly hangs his tongue outside his mouth and always accompanies his famous owner. During an early December appearance on Good Morning America, the human Fisher blamed her pet's tameless tongue on the upcoming Star Wars flick, in which she plays older Princess Leia, now known as the General.

"The tongue wasn't out of his mouth before he saw the movie, and now that's his review," she joked.

As of Thursday morning, the new profile only has about 500 followers and two posts. The first post of Gary features a close up of his face and the caption, "Thanks to all my #fans who encouraged me to have my own IG page! I thank you from the bottom of my #tongue."

Dedicated fans of Gary have began commenting and sharing the photos, prompting a stream of new followers.
