Kim Kardashian's son's name reflects difficult pregnancy

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian's difficult pregnancy reportedly influenced son Saint West's name.

Sources told E! News the 35-year-old reality star and husband Kanye West chose the name to equate Saint's birth with a "blessing." Another insider told the website the newborn doesn't have a middle name, like his sister, North West.

Kardashian and West welcomed Saint on Dec. 5, and announced his name on Dec. 7. The reality star struggled to conceive her son for months, and experienced difficulties, once she was pregnant, such as the baby boy being breech, or turned the wrong way before birth.

"Every medical issue that you could probably have I feel like I get and I worry so much about it," she admitted in November. Kardashian's younger sister, Khloe Kardashian, gave an update on the mom-of-two on her website Monday.

"My little nephew was born," she told fans in a livestream. "He is so cute and perfect. I love him and mommy and daddy are doing fantastic."

Kardashian and West welcomed daughter North in June 2013, and married in May 2014. The reality star surprised mom Kris Jenner by alluding to wanting a third child on Sunday's episode of E! series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
