NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Michelle Williams and Matilda Ledger enjoyed a mother-daughter night out Sunday.

The 35-year-old American actress brought the 9-year-old to see Matthew Morrison star in Finding Neverland on Broadway. The pair were able to meet Morrison backstage, posing with the former Glee actor after the show.

Matilda is Williams' only child by ex-boyfriend and late Australian actor Heath Ledger. The former couple met on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2004, and broke up in 2007. Ledger died of an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.

"I feel like I'm so good at raising a kid when I'm not working," Williams said in the April issue of Elle U.K. "I don't forget anything. I've got everything covered. It's a real luxury to have a moment when I'm not scrambling. I feel like most my life, I'm trying to do two things at once, both to the best of my abilities."

Williams last appeared in Suite Francaise with Matthias Schoenaerts, and will next star in Manchester-by-the-Sea with Casey Affleck. She is also scheduled for the play Blackbird with Jeff Daniels, which will open on Broadway in the spring.
