NEW YORK, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Drake and Lorde cozied up at Kanye West's surprise fashion show Wednesday. The 28-year-old Canadian rapper and 18-year-old New Zealand singer both attended the Yeezy presentation at New York Fashion Week. West unexpectedly announced he would preview his new collection Sunday, disrupting other designers' plans.

Drake shared a photo of himself with Lorde at the event, and captioned the picture, "Wifey (Low Key)," with engagement ring emojis. The singer re-posted the image on Twitter, writing, "champagne papi got me like," with blushing and heart-eyes emojis.
The friendly exchange set off a firestorm on social media, with fans clamoring for the recording artists to collaborate musically. Drake is rumored to be romantically involved with tennis player Serena Williams, while Lorde has been dating photographer James Lowe since 2013.
Drake last released If You're Reading This It's Too Late in February, and is expected to debut Views from the 6 later this year. Lorde released her debut studio album, Pure Heroine, in September 2013, and has a second record in the works.
