HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Twentieth Century Fox released the second full-length trailer for Ridley Scott's latest film, The Martian, Wednesday morning.

The new trailer expands the context of the sci-fi film which leaves Mark Watney (Matt Damon) alone to fend for himself on Mars after a horrific accident which left his team believing him dead.

The new trailer features Damon working to survive on the red planet for at least four years with nothing but 50 days worth of food. The astronaut must "science the [expletive] out of" his situation in order to remain alive long enough for NASA to save him -- if they decide to at all.

The world premier of The Martian will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, Variety reports. Its theater release will be on Oct. 2.
