CHICAGO, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Actor Terrence Howard and third wife Mira Pak quietly divorced in July.

The 46-year-old Empire star and his 38-year-old wife were married less than two years when Pak filed for divorce while pregnant in March. The New York Daily News obtained the divorce paperwork this week.

Howard and Pak married in October 2013, and welcomed their first child, son Quirin Love, in May of this year. Pak listed their separation date as August 2014, and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The actor is involved in a contentious divorce settlement battle with second wife Michelle Ghent, who is seeking more than her current $5,800 per month in spousal support due to the success of Empire. Howard claims she blackmailed him into agreeing to the amount in the first place.

The Empire star was married to first wife Lori McCommas from 1989 to 2003 and remarried from 2005 to 2007, and to Ghent from 2010 to 2013. He will return as Lucious Lyon on season 2 of the Fox series on Sept. 23.
