Katie Holmes risks wardrobe malfunction in denim dress

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Katie Holmes risked a major wardrobe malfunction in a denim mini-dress Tuesday in New York.

The 36-year-old actress nearly flashed her butt cheeks in the barely-there ensemble while filming All We Had with Stefania Owen at a local Walmart. Holmes will direct and star in the new movie.

The actress seemed uncomfortable in the outfit and was seen tugging the top up or the hem down on several occasions. She did carry a large purse that helped preserve her modesty from behind.

All We Had is based on the Annie Weatherwax novel of the same name. The story follows a mother (Holmes) and daughter (Owen) who fall on hard times and end up in a small town called Fat River. The pair begin to rebuild their lives with the help of the city's quirky residents.

Holmes last starred in Woman in Gold with Helen Mirren, and recently appeared on Showtime series Ray Donovan. She will portray Jacqueline Kennedy in Reelz miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot, and is mother to nine-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
