LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez is bothered by recent rumors about her personal life.

The 22-year-old singer and actress vented online amid rehab reports and ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber pleading guilty to assault and careless driving.

"Sometimes I get frustrated when I hear lies about who I am," she wrote Thursday on Instagram. "The Internet is meant to keep you 'updated' but it just takes old news and freezes it like it's now. You have watched me in pain and I've owned up to it through my music and actions."

"I am beyond excited to show you the next chapter, the TRUTH," she declared. "I've been keeping so many secrets... I'm reborn in every moment so who knows what I'll become... As long as I'm happy with me. #strongisbeautiful #healthyperspectiveonthemfools."

Gomez sought treatment for emotional issues in 2014, and a new Life & Style report claimed the singer was headed back to rehab, this time for alcohol abuse. The star's rep subsequently told Gossip Cop the article is "entirely untrue."

Gomez released her debut studio album, Stars Dance, in 2013, and is nearly finished with her new record. The actress last appeared in Rudderless with Billy Crudup, and is scheduled for an adaptation of John Steinbeck novel In Dubious Battle with James Franco.
