LOS ANGELES, May 19 (UPI) -- Bruce Jenner and his ex-wife, Kris, entered a tense, at times angry, conversation as they tried to tie up loose ends on Monday night's premier of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce.

The duo, who were married for 23 years, passed tough realizations back and forth as Kris tearfully tried to come to terms with the Olympian's gender transition. The Kardashian mogul, 59, confronted her ex about not coming clean when they split in October 2013, claiming she never knew he took hormone pills. He quickly assured her that he didn't take estrogen while they were together.

"I think you shut me out a long time ago. You were angry, which made me angry," she told him.

"You know you treated me badly those last four, five years of our marriage," he replied.

"No, you were just very, very angry to the point where we just had to separate and then get divorced," she said, crying. "You never said this was going to be the end result, ever."

Bruce apologized, but the Kardashian matriarch's tears kept coming.

"I just miss Bruce. And that's going to take me a minute to mourn that relationship," she said. "You think you're going to grow old with somebody, and they drastically change over the course of just a few years."

"All I have really is my memories. I look at pictures of you and the kids, and I'm really sad because I feel like you died," she continued as Bruce failed at holding back his tears. "You know, Bruce died. And it's really hard for me to wrap my head around."

Earlier in the show, Kris admitted to daughter Kim Kardashian that she sometimes doubts whether her happy memories with Bruce were real.

When trying to console his heartbroken ex-wife, he spoke tenderly: "I still love you, baby... Is there anything I can do now to make it better for you?"

Kris eventually commended the father of six and stepfather of three on being a great father, friend and partner.

"At the end of the day it's not about my feelings, it's about you, and I just want you to be happy," She said.
