BEVERLY HILS, Calif., April 17 (UPI) -- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards was arrested early Thursday morning for public intoxication, being charged for battery on a police officer among three other allegations.

The incident occurred outside of the Beverly Hills Hotel at around 2:00 a.m., about a half hour after police responded to a "possible fight."

At the time of the police's arrival, 50-year-old reality TV star reportedly displayed, "symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest."

Richards was released from custody hours later, at 10:39 a.m. on the same day. US Weekly reports that Richards faces four charges including public intoxication, trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer, and is to appear in court on June 11.

Richards spent time in rehab in 2011 for alcohol abuse and maintained on the reality show that she has stayed clean since. However, a source tells People that the star has been "increasingly out of it. She's been a mess, showing up late to events and social gatherings and acting bizarre or belligerent or both."
