TONTITOWN, Ark., April 13 (UPI) -- Josiah Duggar is officially courting.

The 18-year-old reality star started formally seeing former classmate Marjorie Jackson on April 6, the same day sister Jill Duggar welcomed her first child, son Israel, with husband Derick Dillard.

Josiah Duggar and his siblings were raised in a conservative Independent Baptist household and are expected to save both kissing and sex for marriage. Young couples are allowed "side hugs" and chaperoned dates during their courtship period.

"It's been going very well," he revealed to People magazine. "I met Marjorie a few years ago, when I was taking Spanish lessons at her house and I was very impressed with the way she was with her siblings and her love for the Lord."

Jackson has four sisters and admitted to "liking" Duggar for some time, saying, "I met him at Spanish class a few years back. For me it was an immediate thing, I have always admired him and his family."

Josiah Duggar began to notice Jackson when she "really caught [his] eye" during a mission trip to El Salvador in December. Sister Jessa Duggar's husband, Ben Seewald, shared a photo of the new couple from the article on Instagram, writing, "Guess what? Josiah is courting!"
