LOS ANGELES, April 10 (UPI) -- Big Sean did not sent out a tweet threatening Justin Bieber for getting too close to his girlfriend Ariana Grande after all.

The rapper's rep told TMZ that a tweet purportedly sent by Sean, 27, after Bieber made a surprise appearance during Grande's Honeymoon Tour was fake.

On Thursday the celebrity gossip site shared a screen grab of a seemingly deleted tweet by Sean stating: "This kid is about to learn not to touch my girl like that. Beliebe that." The post was immediately associated with Bieber and Grade's performance the day prior in which they shared a tight hug.

The screen grab coupled with another of Sean tweets -- "so many times in my life I wish I could of been at 2 places at once" -- made it sound like the rapper was upset with the performance, but his team assured TMZ the post has nothing to do with Bieber and that Sean just misses friends and family while on tour.

Sean confirmed his relationship with the "Love Me Harder" singer, 21, in September, a month after they were seen holding hands backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards.
