LONDON, April 8 (UPI) -- When Prince George was born, Kate Middleton jumped back into the spotlight less than two months after giving birth. This time around, the Duchess of Cambridge wants to take a longer maternity leave than before.

As her late April due date approaches, the world anticipates the arrival of the royal couple's second child. Whether Prince George will have little sister or brother, Kate has told friends she want to enjoy the bonding experience a while longer.

A source close to the royal family told People magazine, "She felt she came back too soon last time, she wants to have that [family] and enjoy it with George and the new baby."

The family will have more than enough space for Kate to go under the radar, at their residence at Anmer Hall, on Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham estate.
