BOSTON, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Chris Pratt and Chris Evans completed the first leg of their Superbowl XLIX bet Friday.

The 35-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy actor and 33-year-old Captain America star visited Christopher's Haven charity in Boston. The organization maintains seven temporary, low-cost apartments to provide a home and community for child cancer patients and their families.

Pratt and Evans struck the bet last week on Twitter, with the former agreeing he would visit Christopher's Haven as Star-Lord if the Seattle Seahawks lost. The actors plan to call on Pratt's charity of choice, the Seattle Children's Hospital, as well.

The Twitter Bowl bet has raised over $12,000 thus far for Christopher's Haven and $15,000 for Seattle Children's Hospital. Hospital president Lisa Brandenberg said she and the institution are grateful to "the real-life superheroes" for turning their rivalry into "an opportunity to support kids in their communities."

Pratt debuted as Star-Lord in Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy, and is expected to return for a sequel in 2017. Evans portrayed Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and will appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
