Kate Hudson, Matt Bellamy end engagement

A rep for the actress says she and her rocker husband have been "separated for some time now."

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Actress Kate Hudson has ended her three-year engagement to Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy.

"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," Hudson's rep told People on Monday. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."

Hudson, 35, and Bellamy, 36, became engaged in 2011 after a year of dating. They welcomed their son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy, in July 2011.

Hudson has another son, Ryder, 10, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, lead singer of The Black Crowes.

Us Weekly reported Monday that while Hudson and Bellamy were last photographed together at a November 21 event, the Almost Famous star has started seeing dancer and television personality Derek Hough.
