RENFREWSHIRE, Scotland, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The Who's Roger Daltrey surprised a couple on their wedding day with an unexpected performance of the band's hit single "I Can't Explain."
Daltrey, 70, was staying at the same hotel -- the Mar Lodge in Bishopton -- where Susan and Carl Smith were celebrating their wedding on Sunday, and even though the couple had hired local band Milestone to perform at the reception, Daltrey decided to crash the wedding and perform.
The band's guitarist Graeme Allan told BBC Radio, Daltrey joined the band towards the end of their set.
"Roger came up and he took the mike and he congratulated the bride and groom," he said. "Because the groom had served in the parachute regiment he also mentioned them as well. Then he turned to the band and he said, 'I was through next door and I heard the band and they're brilliant, so I had to come through'."
Milestone's singer, Tommy Bell, filmed the singer's performance with the band and uploaded the video to his Twitter account.
Oh aye, I nearly forgot - Roger Daltrey from The Who was also staying at Mar Hal ahead of their gig at The SSE... http://t.co/1tFZBkjVXA

The newlyweds also took to social media to share the experience according to the BBC, and Susan wrote on Facebook that the surprise had been "absolutely overwhelming!"
"Can't believe it happened. Feels so surreal. Thank you so much, you made our perfect day even better, a gent and a legend," Carl wrote on his account.
