Katherine Heigl doesn't consider herself rude

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Katherine Heigl doesn't consider herself a rude person.

The 35-year-old actress said as much in a Q & A session Saturday on Facebook. Heigl has earned a reputation for being rude and difficult on set, but the star asserted she doesn't agree with the rumors.

"Honestly I don't think I am," she wrote. "Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someones feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose. Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right."

"That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to," she concluded.

Heigl came to fame as Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens on ABC series Grey's Anatomy, but left the program in the middle of season six. Her departure was meant to be temporary, and creator Shonda Rimes has since implied the actress was difficult to work with.

Heigl went on to make romantic comedies Life as We Know It and One for the Money, and will lead new NBC series State of Affairs. The drama is scheduled to premiere November 17, and stars the actress as CIA analyst Charleston Tucker.
