Lady Gaga, Taylor Kinney reportedly held a commitment ceremony

NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Lady Gaga and boyfriend Taylor Kinney reportedly held a commitment ceremony.

The 28-year-old singer and 33-year-old Chicago Fire actor have been together since July 2011. The Daily Star reports the couple recently held a commitment ceremony, and plan to officially wed next year.

Lady Gaga and Kinney are said to have hosted the event at Joanne Trattoria restaurant in New York. The singer's parents own the establishment, and the actor's mother and brother and "a few close art and designer friends" were also in attendance.

"Gaga wanted something visual, a commitment ceremony with the people who matter most," a source told the publication. "They don't have time to plan a wedding, so they decided they would have a small gathering to show the people they love most how committed they are to one another."

Speculation began two weeks ago when Kinney was spotted with a band on his left ring finger. Sophia Bush starred in a Chicago P.D./Chicago Fire crossover episode, and posted a picture of herself with the actor on Instagram. She included the hashtags, "#ThatsHisPersonalRing," "#NotForTheShow," "#EveryoneCalmDown" and "#LindsayAndSeverideArentMarried."

Chicago Fire airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
