Mel Brooks leaves a special mark on Hollywood Walk of Fame

"Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you all for being here and being part of the wonderful charade. I really love it," Brooks joked.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Comedian and actor Mel Brooks made his mark on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday outside the Chinese Theater with 11-finger handprints.

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of his film Young Frankenstein, the veteran comedian finally received his star among the Hollywood greats. He added his own personal flair by putting on a prosthetic sixth finger while making his handprints.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you all for being here and being part of the wonderful charade. I really love it," he joked.

Brooks' best-known works include The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Star Wars spoof Spaceballs and History of the World, Part I.
