Frankie Muniz says he would like to buy the Los Angeles Clippers

LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Frankie Muniz has added his voice to the Los Angeles Clippers debate and said he would like to buy the team himself.

The 28-year-old former Malcom in the Middle actor is a longtime Clippers fan, and took to Facebook to offer his opinion on the recent controversy. Team owner Donald Sterling was banned for life and fined $2.5 million Tuesday following an NBA investigation into racist statements he made in a recorded conversation with his mistress.

"I've never been a fan of the owner. I never wanted the team to win for the owner," Muniz writes. "I am a fan of the players, the coaches, and I root for the team to win for the fans."

"I'm disgusted by the things said by owner Donald Sterling," he continues. "I feel badly for the players, coaches and all members of the Los Angeles Clippers staff. They have worked incredibly hard to put together an amazing team."

Muniz asserts his opinion that "there's no place in the NBA for people like Donald Sterling," and says the "punishment the NBA has imposed on him was well warranted." The actor entreats fans to "come out and continue to support this team."

The actor later tweeted, likely in jest, that he plans to buy the team himself.
