Designer Tom Ford reveals he is married

LONDON, April 8 (UPI) -- Designer Tom Ford revealed Monday night that he and partner Richard Buckley are now married.

The 52-year-old designer casually dropped the news during an interview about fashion at the Regent Street Apple Store in London.

"We are now married, which is nice," Ford announced. "I know that was just made legal in the U.K., which is great; we married in the States."

The couple have been together for 27 years, and Ford said that tragic experiences are one thing that brought the two close.

"I lost so many friends in college," the designer recalled. "I would say more than half of my closest friends. Richard...had also gone through something also quite tough in his life."

Ford did not provide details on their wedding ceremony. The couple have one child together, son Alexander John Buckley Ford.
