Flavor Flav's speeding trial postponed until May

The musician was arrested in early January for speeding, driving with a suspended license and carrying a small amount of marijuana as he was on his way to his mother's funeral.

Musician William Jonathan Drayton, aka Flavor Flav, attended a New York courthouse Tuesday to address several charges from his January arrest before a judge adjourned until May.

The 55-year-old musician was arrested in Hempstead, N.Y., January 10 and charged with speeding, driving with a suspended liscense and carrying a small amount of marijuana. He was on his way to his mother's funeral. Drayton was later booked and released without bail so he could attend the funeral.

Drayton pleaded not guilty to the charges before a court in Hempstead, N.Y., in late January.

"Just trying to get this over with as fast as possible so I can get back to my life in Vegas," he told reporters Tuesday as he made his way into the courtroom.
