NEW YORK, March 9 (UPI) -- New York-based rapper Biggie Smalls, born Christopher Wallace and also known as The Notorious B.I.G., died 17 years ago in a March 9, 1997 drive-by shooting after a party in Los Angeles.
Diddy, born Sean Combs, was in Biggie's entourage the night of his murder. Now 44, Diddy has taken to Twitter and Instagram to remember his late friend, sharing photos of the rapper and promoting a Biggie special on his network, Revolt TV .
"Words can't explain!!!!!!! #BIG #FrankWhite RIP WE MISS YOU!!" Diddy captioned a photo of himself with Biggie. The late rapper often referred to himself as Frank White, the name of Christopher Walken's character in the 1990 film King of New York.
