KATIE HOLMES: Actress Katie Holmes and her 6-year-old daughter, Suri, were unharmed when a garbage truck hit the car in which they were riding, the New York Daily News said.

The collision occurred Monday night as mother and daughter were leaving Suri's gymnastics class at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, the newspaper said. Their car was being driven by a chauffeur.

"It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes," a police source told the Daily News.

Holmes settled her divorce from Tom Cruise last week. Holmes moved in late June to end their five-year marriage and resides full-time in New York with Suri.


BOB DYLAN: Columbia Records says Bob Dylan's 35th studio album, "Tempest," will be released this September in North America.

Featuring 10 new songs penned and sung by Dylan, the CD coincides with the 50th anniversary of the artist's eponymous debut album, which was released by Columbia in 1962.

His new CD is due out Sept. 11 and follows his 2009 albums "Together Through Life" and "Christmas in the Heart."


CLEMENCE POESY: British actress Clemence Poesy is to make her Broadway debut as Roxane in a new production of "Cyrano de Bergerac," the Roundabout Theatre Company said Tuesday.

Douglas Hodge is playing the title role and Broadway veteran Patrick Page will play Comte De Guiche.

The new version of the 1897 play by French poet-dramatist Edmond Rostand will feature a translation by Ranjit Bolt. It is being directed by Jamie Lloyd.

The show will begin previews Sept. 14 and open officially Oct. 11 at the American Airlines Theatre. This will be a limited engagement through Nov. 25.

Hodge recently earned a Tony Award for his work in the revival of "La Cage aux Folles."

Poesy is best known for her work as Fleur Delacour in the Harry Potter film series.


MARK CONSUELOS: Actor and TV personality Mark Consuelos has joined Season 2 of FX's "American Horror Story," EW.com reported.

The former "All My Children" star and current husband of "Live!" host Kelly Ripa will play a patient in an institution for the criminally insane where the new season of "Horror Story" is set, the entertainment news Web site said.

Production on the second season began this week.

The cast also includes Jessica Lange, James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Zachary Quinto, Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny and Lizzie Brochere.
