GLENN BECK: Glenn Beck will be ending his Fox TV show and moving on to other projects with the network, his company and Fox announced.

Beck will "transition off of his daily program … later this year" and will develop content for Fox's television and digital platforms, the joint statement from Fox and Beck's Mercury Radio Arts stated Wednesday. The TV show's end date was not specified.

Joel Cheatwood, a Fox senior vice president, will be moving to Mercury, they added.

The liberal Media Matters for America, a constant foe of Fox and Beck, crowed that the news was "no surprise" since advertisers were shunning Beck's show for what it considers his extreme views.

Fox says the advertisers shifted to other programs on the network.

Beck has been considering distancing himself from Fox for some time, The New York Times reports. He was said to be contemplating a partial or complete takeover of a cable channel -- like Oprah Winfrey -- or expanding his Web video subscription service.

MATT LAUER: "Today" co-anchor Matt Lauer plans to leave the U.S. morning program when his contract expires at the end of next year, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.

The news comes amid reports that Lauer's co-anchor, Meredith Vieira, wants to quit the show to spend more time with her ailing husband when her five-year "Today" pact expires in September.

The "Today" show's producers released a statement Wednesday addressing the rumors.

"There seems to be an awful lot of speculation around news anchors these days, and it's not our practice to comment on any of it. Matt Lauer has a long-term contract with NBC News and 'Today,'" the statement said.

Lauer has been with the show since 1997.

TINA FEY: Tina Fey's publicist says the U.S. actress, writer and producer is five months pregnant with her second child.

Fey, 40, announced the happy news during the taping of an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to air Tuesday.

The "30 Rock" star's representative confirmed her pregnancy to UsMagazine.com.

Fey and her husband, composer Jeff Richmond, are the parents of a 5-year-old daughter named Alice.

LAUREN CONRAD: HarperCollins Children's Books in New York says it has acquired the world rights to "The Fame Game," a new series of novels by Lauren Conrad.

Best known for starring in the MTV series "The Hills," Conrad is the author of several bestsellers, including the "L.A. Candy" series and "Lauren Conrad Style," a fashion guide.

"Madison Parker made a name for herself as best frenemy of girl-next-door-turned-reality-celeb Jane Roberts in the 'L.A. Candy' books," HarperCollins said in a news release Wednesday. "Now she's ready for her turn in the spotlight and she'll stop at nothing to get it. But with backstabbing friends and family, relentless paparazzi, and tabloid scandals she can't control, Madison is going to have her work cut out for her."

The first book in the three-book series is scheduled to be published in Winter 2012.
