TISH CYRUS: Tish Cyrus, the wife of U.S. singer Billy Ray Cyrus and mother of pop star Miley Cyrus, says her family weathered a "huge storm" but is stronger for it.

Billy Ray recently announced he and Tish had canceled divorce proceedings and reconciled. The couple have been married for 17 years, but had filed for divorce a few months ago.

Billy Ray said in interviews the fame brought on by "Hannah Montana," the TV show he co-starred in with Miley, put tremendous strain on the family, and he wished he and his daughter never got involved with it.

Miley, 18, also has earned criticism for her sexy image and hard-partying ways.

"Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers," People.com said Tish wrote on her Facebook page Monday. "I feel so blessed to have so much support from all of you. ... Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been. Much love to all of you guys! You're the best."

WYCLEF JEAN: Wyclef Jean's publicist says the recording star is fine after his hand was grazed by a bullet in Haiti during the weekend.

The former Fugees singer sustained the injury Saturday night while he was in Port-au-Prince for the runoff election for president between musician Michel "Sweet Micky" Martelly and former first lady Mirlande Manigat.

Jean was treated for his wound at a hospital, then released.

"Fortunately, Wyclef is fine, undeterred by the incident and looking forward to his return home to finish his forthcoming album," publicist Derek Johnson said in a statement issued to MTV.com Monday.

Jean would not comment on whether he thought he was specifically targeted.

"I can't even speculate," MTV.com quoted him as saying.

The incident is under investigation, police said.

Jean last year announced plans to run for president of Haiti, however, he did not meet the residency requirements. He subsequently backed Martelly's campaign.

Results of the runoff election are expected to be announced April 16.

EDDIE MURPHY: Eddie Murphy is to be honored with the inaugural Comedy Icon Award at The Comedy Awards show in New York, organizers said.

The ceremony is to be taped at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom. It is to premiere April 10 simultaneously across MTV Networks' Comedy Central, Spike TV, TV Land, VH1 and Nick At Nite.

"Eddie Murphy's impact in the world of comedy is immeasurable," Casey Patterson -- executive producer and executive vice president of event production for MTV Networks Entertainment Group -- said in a statement. "From the characters he created on 'Saturday Night Live,' to his groundbreaking stand-up performances and unforgettable film roles, Murphy changed the game forever and we're honored that he will be joining us for the first-ever Comedy Awards."

Presenters and attendees confirmed for The Comedy Awards include Tina Fey, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, Matt Stone, Trey Parker, Ty Burrell, Louis C.K., Stephen Colbert, Rob Corddry, Bill Hader, Chloe Moretz, Craig Robinson, Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig.

The Roots will serve as the show's house band, Comedy Central said.

OPRAH WINFREY: Media mogul Oprah Winfrey is to be inducted into the Illinois Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame at a luncheon ceremony this spring, organizers said.

ABC 7, Chicago, anchor/reporter Cheryl Burton is to serve as the emcee of the May 3 event.

"Oprah is the epitome of broadcasting excellence," Dennis Lyle, president and chief executive officer of the Illinois Broadcasters Association, said in a statement Monday. "How fortunate for us that she chose Illinois to remain her stage through each phase of her career that has seen her skyrocket from local talk show host to national treasure to the global media personality she's become today."

"There's no doubt that Oprah Winfrey's impact as co-host of 'A.M. Chicago' was a defining moment in our station's history," Emily Barr, president and general manager of ABC 7, said. "We knew then what everyone knows now. Oprah is without equal in sheer talent and ability to connect with and influence audiences. We at ABC 7 are proud of our long-standing relationship with Oprah and delighted that someone who has served her viewers and our community so faithfully for over 25 years as an Illinois broadcaster, is being honored by the IBA."
