ABC News starts up YouTube channel

LOS ANGELES, May 6 (UPI) -- ABC News announced Wednesday the establishment of youtube.com/ABCNEWS, its own branded channel on YouTube.

The Internet channel is to feature breaking news as it happens and highlights from newsmaker interviews, as well as ABC News programming, including "Good Morning America," "World News with Charles Gibson," "Nightline," "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," "20/20" and "Primetime" limited series.

"We look forward to expanding our online audience for ABC News reporting on our new YouTube channel," ABC News President David Westin said in a statement. "ABC News audiences will now be able to watch us on one of the top video portals on the Internet."

The ABC News Channel on YouTube will also feature "Quick Fix," a Web-exclusive program from ABCNEWS.com with "a daily dose of wit and occasionally wisdom, featuring ABC News correspondents Bill Weir, Juju Chang, John Berman, Dan Harris and ESPN's John Anderson," ABC News said in a release.
