During her fashion career, de la Falaise served as a model for Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli before designing clothes for French designer Gerard Pipart.

Vogue magazine hired de la Falaise to serve as food editor when the model-designer relocated to New York and while there, she appeared in artist Andy Warhol's 1974 underground movie "Andy Warhol's Dracula."

Designing boutique clothes, sportswear, furniture and rugs were next on the agenda for de la Falaise, the Times said.

The newspaper said besides her daughter, Louise, de la Falaise is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
