LONDON, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Versions of the song "Hallelujah" by different artists have taken the top two spots on England's Christmas record chart this year, the BBC said.

The rendition of the tune by "X Factor" winner Alexandra Burke ranked No. 1, while Jeff Buckley's version took second place.

Rounding out the top 5 are Leona Lewis' "Run" at No. 3, Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy" at No. 4 and Geraldine's "Once Upon a Christmas Song" at No. 5.

Leonard Cohen's original version of "Hallelujah," penned about 25 years ago, was No. 36 on the British holiday chart this year, the BBC said.

Official Charts Co. Managing Director Martin Talbot said: "It is a particularly amazing week for Alexandra Burke who has broken a string of records to announce her arrival in spectacular style. And, chart placings at 1, 2 and 36 are remarkable for a 25-year-old song which has never previously reached the top 40."
