LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- U.S. television game show host Chuck Woolery says he remembers a 2002 appearance on his show "Lingo" by John Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter.

"It's ironic how life plays out ... I have to have John Edwards' mistress on my show," Woolery told Inside Edition Friday.

Edwards, a former U.S. senator from North Carolina and Democratic U.S. presidential candidate, admitted this month he had an extramarital affair with flimmaker Hunter while his wife was dealing with a recurrence of cancer.

The show's producers played Hunter's "Lingo" appearance to Woolery, in which she reportedly claims to do a lot of yoga and chanting. Woolery responded, "She was a chanter and a yoga person when I saw her. Apparently there's more to that chant than meets the eye."

Woolery also opines on Inside Edition that Hunter's affair with a married man raises questions about her moral character, saying, "I know that there's a difference between smart and cunning and very seldom does smart and cunning go together, but apparently in her case it does."
