NEW YORK, April 21 (UPI) -- A vocal cord hemorrhage has forced U.S. pop newcomer Jordin Sparks off the Alicia Keys tour, her record label says.
The 18-year-old winner of last season's "American Idol" missed three shows this past weekend, including the tour opener in Hampton, Va.

"Jordin is on a vocal rest, but she's expected to make a full recovery and join Alicia on tour in May," a Jive records spokesperson told Billboard.com Monday.
Sparks' duet with Chris Brown, "No Air," was No. 3 last week on Billboard's Hot 100.
