Kid Rock questions lawsuit dismissal

PONTIAC, Mich., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Musician Kid Rock has asked a Michigan judge to reconsider her dismissal of his lawsuit against a woman who accused him of assault.

Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, accused Kelly Ann Kozlowski of Milford, Mich., of trespassing, invasion of privacy and defamation. The woman sued Rock, alleging assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and defamation.

The lawsuits stem from a March 8 incident in which Kozlowski alleged that Rock invited her to his house to listen to music, became angry when she decided to leave and threw her into the fender of her car.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Shalina Kumar threw out Rock's lawsuit because he did not give a deposition by a court-ordered deadline.

Rock told the Oakland Press of Pontiac, Mich., he missed the deadline because of his tour schedule "and my duties as a single father." He said he had suggested up to eight alternate dates and offered to pay costs associated with the deposition.

Kozlowski's lawsuit is scheduled for trial Feb. 6.
