Oprah denies suggesting doctor to Donda

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. talk-show host Oprah Winfrey says she did not introduce Donda West to the plastic surgeon who operated on her just before she died.

In a statement issued to "Access Hollywood," a representative for Winfrey denied reports she introduced singer Kanye West's mother to Dr. Jan Adams.

"Absolutely untrue. Oprah did not introduce Dr. West to Dr. Adams," the statement read.

The spokesperson said the last time Winfrey had spoken to West was in 2005 when she and her rap artist son appeared on Winfrey's show.

A source told "Access Hollywood" earlier Tuesday, however, that Adams was one of two doctors Winfrey recommended to West.

CelebTV.com reported Tuesday that Adams has previously been sued for malpractice and also has been arrested twice for drunken driving. The California Medical Board reportedly is considering revoking or suspending his license, as well.

Adams told TMZ.com he performed a tummy tuck and breast reduction on West before she died this weekend in Los Angeles.
