11 extras hurt on 'Valkyrie' set

BERLIN, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Eleven extras were hurt when they fell off a truck on the German set of Tom Cruise's latest movie, “Valkyrie,” the BBC reported Monday.

One man was seriously injured when the side of the vehicle burst open as it drove around a corner, Berlin police said.

The other 10 players were taken to an area hospital where they were treated for their injuries and later released while the truck is being inspected for technical defects as part of a police investigation.

Investigators said there were "no findings to suggest anyone famous was involved."

Filming, which began last month, was halted following the Sunday accident.

Police said they did not know whether there would be further delays as a result.

Directed by Bryan Singer and co-starring Kenneth Branagh, the film is based on a true story about a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944.
