Country legends team up on new album

PRESCOTT, Ariz., March 20 (UPI) -- Texas-based music legend Willie Nelson likens his new project -- "Last of the Breed" with Merle Haggard and Ray Price -- to some of his previous collaborations.

"We've been waiting to work together for a long time," Nelson said of the trio, which he compares to the Highwaymen supergroup he was in with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson.

"That's what the challenge is; we're all independent in our own ways, and it's a matter of give and take. That's the fun of it, because we all know each other and how to work together. We're individual personalities, and we get together and make it happen."

"Last of the Breed" is a two-CD set on which Nelson, Haggard and Price sing some of their favorite songs as well as a handful of new compositions.
