DukesFest 2007 in Nashville, Tenn.

NASHVILLE, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- DukesFest 2007, which is a festival thrown to honor "The Dukes of Hazzard," will be in Nashville in early June.

"The Dukes Of Hazzard" ended its original run in 1985, but in 2005 the Country Music Network CMT started airing reruns, CBS reported Thursday.

The reruns of the show, which in combination with "Dallas" helped CBS to earn record-breaking Friday night ratings, has also received surprisingly good ratings.

The show centers on "good-ol' boys" Bo and Luke Duke and their Uncle Jesse being pitted against Boss Hogg and his henchman, Sheriff Coltrane, all set in the fictional Hazzard County.

Ben Jones, who played "Crazy Cooter" on the show, and his wife Alma, created DukesFest eight years ago.

"Last year we drew more than 70,000 people to the Motorplex over two days," Jones said in a statement. "The city said it was the largest gathering of its kind ever in the city."

Proceeds from this year's festival will go to the Children's Fund at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
