Ryan Murphy tabbed for Hitchcock flick

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- "Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy has been tabbed to direct "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho," a thriller about the Hollywood director's famous film.

While Murphy has built his career on the quirky lives of two plastic surgeons on FX's "Nip/Tuck," the "Running with Scissors" director turn his attention to a mostly fictional account of Hitchcock's notorious 1960 masterpiece, said IGNFilmForce.com.

Hitchcock's expansive cinematic career will also be the subject of another upcoming film, "Number Thirteen," which will feature actor Dan Fogler fitting the director's infamous profile.

"Thirteen" is about Hitchcock's attempts to finish his lost first film while juggling his involvement in both a love triangle and a mysterious murder plot.

IGNFilmForce.com said Hitchcock fans can also look forward to an upcoming remake of his classic, "The Birds," which is being developed at Universal Pictures.
