LONDON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Despite reviews plaguing shows at London's Old Vic theater, actor Kevin Spacey's work on "A Moon for the Misbegotten" has the play eyeing a move to Broadway.
Since Spacey joined the British theater company as its artistic director in 2003, the "American Beauty" actor has suffered several setbacks, such as last spring's "Resurrection Blues." But the facility's ongoing production of the Eugene O'Neill play has met with great success in its first week out, said Daily Variety.
If the production continues its success at the London locale and makes the leap to Broadway it will mark the first time the 47-year-old "Superman Returns" star has headed a strong production there since 1999 when he starred in a Howard Davies-helmed production of "The Iceman Cometh," the newspaper said.
Daily Variety said any possible move to Broadway of "Misbegotten" would likely not occur till later next year as Spacey's co-star, Eve Best, is signed onto a separate production in early 2007.
