Jones, Theron in talks for Haggis film

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actors Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron are in talks to be the leads in the next Hollywood offering from "Crash" director Paul Haggis.

Warner Bros. Pictures is in discussions with both Jones and Theron, who won acting Oscars for their roles in "The Fugitive" and "Monster" respectively, in hopes that they would join the acclaimed director on the set of as-of-yet untitled film, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Haggis has already signed onto the film about a veteran father searching for his AWOL son who recently returned from Iraq, and the studio has set a tentative start date for production for November.

The drama is based on a former Playboy article by Mark Boal entitled "Death and Dishonor," which itself was based on real-life events.

The Hollywood Reporter said if negotiations with the award-winning actors go as planned, Haggis would place Jones in the role of the investigative father with Theron playing a police detective.
