CBS, JACK-FM join to promote TV lineup

NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The CBS marketing group and CBS Radio are set to promote the U.S. network's new fall TV lineup and stars on the North American radio format JACK-FM.

Radio & Records reported the new promotion from CBS TV marketing exec George Schweitzer will feature a one-week online radio show through JACK-FM in which numerous stars from CBS' fall series will be featured.

The actors, who will range from new series such as "Shark" to classic CBS offerings "CSI" and "Survivor," will offer listeners details concerning their individual shows' upcoming seasons and their own musical preferences, the report said.

In addition to the radio promo, CBS has begun offering audio spots on 1-800-FREE411, the nation's leading free directory assistance service, which are based around the top CBS series airing each night, Radio & Records said.

"By utilizing emerging media channels such as 1-800-FREE411, CBS is finding new platforms for programming and promotion as well as unique ways for advertisers to engage with CBS content," Schweitzer told the trade magazine.
