Album, radio channel due from Who members

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, the surviving members of Britain's The Who, are set to release a new album and launch a new Sirius Satellite Radio channel.

Townshend and Daltrey will not only release their first new album in 24 years next month with "Endless Wire," but will also try to appeal to a new generation of listeners with their new radio station, Daily Variety reported.

"It's about getting our new music out as well as fringe stuff from our old records," said Townshend.

The new radio offering will feature broadcasts of archived Who performances and recordings of late Who greats Keith Moon and John Entwistle, along with sections from the band's current North American tour.

The new channel will also offer listeners glimpses into the creative process behind Daltrey and Townshend's new 19-track album, due out on Oct. 31.
