Report: Ringers hid on British 'X Factor'

LONDON, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A TV tempest has erupted in Britain, where an act appearing on the television show "X Factor" wasn't as amateurish as it was supposed to be, a report says.

The Daily Mirror said Saturday the band Avenue could be barred from the popular show due to an outside management agreement they failed to disclose, much to the consternation of program judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

While "X Factor" highlights amateur talent, it was revealed that Avenue had been formed by British pop mogul Ashley Tabor, who happens to be a business associate of Walsh.

Avenue had made it through the initial auditions for the show.
