LOS ANGELES, July 10 (UPI) -- Actor Samuel L. Jackson will star in the new Regency Enterprises sci-fi thriller, "Jumper," directed by "Mr. and Mrs. Smith's" Doug Liman.
Based on the novel of the same name by Steven Gould, "Jumper" is about a child from a broken home who discovers that he has the ability to teleport. He sets off to find the man who he thinks killed his father and calls the attention of the National Security Agency and another child with his same ability, said the Hollywood Reporter Monday.
Jackson will play the NSA agent tracking the jumper. Tom Sturridge, Jamie Bell and Teresa Palmer have also been cast.
Regency is planning to turn the movie in a trilogy that will feature extensive special effects, the Hollywood Reporter said. Shooting is scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Rome, Toronto and New York.
