Although Cruz, 32, who was born in Madrid, has been acclaimed for her appearances in Hollywood films, including "Sahara" and "Vanilla Sky," her career is also firmly established in independent films.

She was named best actress at the Cannes Film Festival this year for her role in Pedro Almodovar's "Volver."

Just recently, Cruz completed her acting assignment in "The Good Night" with British actors Martin Freeman and Keith Allen.
