Whitaker adds 'Vantage Point' to his slate

LOS ANGELES, May 30 (UPI) -- Actor Forest Whitaker is joining Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and William Hurt in the Columbia Pictures' thriller, "Vantage Point."

Pete Travis is directing Barry Levy's story about an assassination attempt on the U.S. president as told from five different points of view, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

Whitaker has been busy on the small screen, playing opposite Michael Chiklis in the FX police drama, "The Shield." On the big screen, he portrays dictator Idi Amin in the upcoming film, "The Last King of Scotland," recently finished Jieho Lee's ensemble drama "The Air I Breathe" and is lending his voice to Spike Jonze's animated film, "Where the Wild Things Are."
