LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., May 1 (UPI) -- Writer/producer Harvey Bullock, who wrote several episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show," has died in Laguna Beach, Calif., at age 84.
Bullock, who also wrote the Hollywood screenplays for "Girl Happy," "With Six You Get Eggroll" and "Who's Minding the Mint," died April 24, Daily Variety reported.
"Harvey was a good friend and a wonderful man," Griffith told Variety. "He had a fabulous sense of humor, and all those qualities went into his writing."
The Oxford, N.C., native and his writing partner, Ray Allen, crafted some of the most popular TV series of the 1960s and 1970s including "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Danny Thomas Show," "I Spy," and "Gomer Pyle, USMC."
The duo also worked on a number of animated cartoons, including "The Flintstones," "The Jetsons," "Top Cat," and "My World and Welcome to It."
They were executive producers for "Love American Style" and went on to create, executive produced and write "Wait 'til Your Father Gets Home."
Bullock is survived by his wife, four children and three grandchildren.
