New Beatles show, album coming to Vegas

LAS VEGAS, April 10 (UPI) -- Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are collaborating with Cirque du Soleil on a Las Vegas show and an accompanying album of "completely new" Beatles music.

The show "involves the creation, by the re-mixing and re-mastering of the Beatles' recorded performances, of completely new music, which will be featured in the show, and which should lead to the release of the show album," London-based Apple Corps chief Neil Aspinall told the Telegraph.

The music is being handled by longtime Beatles' recording producer George Martin.

George Harrison, who was friends in Cirque de Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, came up with the idea two years before he died of cancer in 2001, the Telegraph said.

The show is aiming for a summer opening at the Mirage casino.

The Beatles last appeared in the Las Vegas strip in 1964.
