Elton John rejects $10 million offer

LONDON, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Elton John has reportedly rejected a $10 million offer from an unidentified U.S. media firm for exclusive access to his impending British wedding.

"Elton is just not interested," a friend reportedly told Monday's Evening Standard. "He wants it as private as possible."

John has previously been quoted as saying only their parents will be present when he exchanges vows with David Furnish in Windsor, England, Wednesday -- the first day gay unions become legal in the country.

The couple will have a lavish reception later, however, with several hundred guests expected at their Berkshire home.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Bill Clinton reportedly has recorded a message that will be played during John's bachelor party at a SoHo club Monday night, the newspaper said.

Clinton congratulates John, 58, and Furnish, 42, saying: "If there were more people like Elton, the world would be a better place."
